matte. is designed to keep photo editing lightweight and local. The editor uses your browser to compose and export images.

Photos and layouts

Photos you upload into the editor are processed in your browser for preview and export. matte. does not intentionally upload your source photos to our servers as part of normal editor use.

Browser storage

The site may store layout settings and export preferences in your browser storage. You can clear this data from your browser settings.

Accounts

Sign-in is handled by Clerk. matte. stores subscription identifiers and status on your account so paid export access can work across devices.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. matte. receives basic checkout and subscription status information so export access can be unlocked. Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by matte.

Service data

Hosting providers may process standard technical logs such as request times, URLs, browser metadata, and IP addresses for security and reliability.
